This would be a nice weekend to grab some lobsters, but you might want to avoid the green stuff. Maine has warned people not to eat the tomalley, that green goo that some seafood lovers consider a delicacy. Massachusetts public health officials followed up this week, cautioning people that if the do eat it, they could put themselves at risk of paralytic shellfish poisoning. The lobster meat is OK, but the tomalley? Avoid it. The poisoning symptoms include: "Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and tingling or burning lips, gums, tongue, face, neck, arms, legs, and toes. Shortness of breath, dry mouth, a choking feeling, confused or slurred speech, and lack of coordination are also possible." That's OK; you don't have to tell us twice not to eat that vile crud.
