Hot DogsFriends, now is your chance to experience the exciting world of competitive eating. Monday at the track it's the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, where entrants will have 12 minutes to cram down as many wieners as possible. We have no advice on how to succeed at this, except maybe you should skip breakfast ---and don't drink from the Big Red Spring before kickoff. Registration is at 1pm. The Japanese are big in this. According to Wikipedia's treatise on the subject: "The idea of eating the hot dogs and buns separately was first demonstrated by Kazutoyo Arai and is sometimes called 'Tokyo Style or 'Japanesing'." The world record in the twelve minute event is 66 hot dogs, held by Joey "Jaws" Chestnut. Go USA! BTW: This contest is not a qualifying event for the 2009 Nathan's championship.
